Forestry
The forestry sector is comprised of forest product harvesting, including logging, as well as manufacturing such as sawmills, pulp and paper mills and other value-added wood products.  This sector represents the largest goods producing sector on Vancouver Island, providing 13,760 jobs in 2006 and important economic spin-offs for local communities.  It also represents a significant share of provincial exports.
