Lawyers, accountants, architects, engineers, designers, computer and management consultants, scientists and other professionals and technicians are representative of this sector.  It was the second fastest growing employment sector on Vancouver Island from 2001 to 2006.  Although not restricted geographically, it is clustered in the two largest population centres of Victoria and Nanaimo.
