Health Care and Social Services
Health care and social services provide approximately 39,000 jobs on Vancouver Island. Activities include ambulatory healthcare services, doctors, dentists, facilities such as hospitals and nursing homes as well as social assistance such as counseling, family services, rehabilitation and child-care. This sector’s employment naturally exists in every part of the region, consistent with the need for resident of all communities to have access to these important services and facilities.
